About Fiona Mullan

From the first moment as a teenager, Fiona set foot in the Mourne Mountains she had found her playground, little did she know then, how fortunate she would be to combine her love and passion for the mountains into a great career and lifestyle.

Whilst studying at University Fiona took full advantage of the extracurricular activities mainly in the Great Outdoors, climbing, trekking, caving, sailing and skiing her way around Europe.

On completing her University education due to her experience gained in the outdoor activity clubs she found employment in a Local Outdoor Education Centre and her career path was decided.

Fiona’s love of the mountains took her to work in Scotland for 15 years where she took on a round of the Munros and had some great mountaineering adventures.

With experience came qualifications and further opportunities through gaining the International Mountain Leader Award and becoming a BASI Ski Instructor, Fiona can be found in the Alps in winter teaching skiing and when not in the Mournes, expeditioning in one of great mountainous areas of the world.

Her continued passion for adventure in the mountains continues and takes her all over the world focusing on travelling through the great mountain ranges from Ladak to the Andes to Morocco and the Alps trekking or ski touring.

Despite all her travelling Fiona still believes there is no place like home, Fiona considers working and living at home in the Mourne Mountains as a wonderful privilege.

Fiona enthusiastically passes on her love and knowledge of hillwalking skills, trekking, scrambling, Nordic Walking and the heritage of the Mourne Mountains to all whether they be young or old, friends or clubs, holiday makers or locals and everyone in between.
